Halloween Costume for 2...

While I love seasonal festivities, I am skipping the costume this year and trading it in for a black tie masquerade ball. I have to say it's a relief, brainstorming for ideas can be a large task! However, I have a few for couples out there who like to do the duo...

Sleek in 30s Fashion...

I always love reading the pages of Bazaar that snapshot style by age, 20s, 30s, 40s and so on...I had to pick a few favorites from different ages, because the 30s look was not one I personally loved. Here is my montage.

Maisonry in Napa...

Wine Tasting + Art Gallery. Ma(i)sonry is situated in a stone house built in 1904, in Yountville, down the road from the famed French Laundry restaurant. They sell antiques and art made between the sixteenth century and the mid-twentieth century, along with contemporary pieces. And offer tastings of other high-end artisanal wines on rotation. The grounds are cozy inside and out.

Anne Hathaway...

It's hard to ignore Anne Hathaway these days, she has blossomed from awkward to elegant. Not to mention, she has had to endure alot of up close personal scrutiny in the spotlight lately, for being the ex-girlfriend of Italian business man Raffaello Follieri, who has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for an investment scam. I love to see women like this rise to the occassion of adversity and become boldly beautiful. From the back stage party at SNL a few weeks ago, friends say she is not only strong, she is sweet. Check out W Magazine's article and layout of glamorous photos.

St. Germain...

There is alot of buzz (literally) around this new cocktail. St-Germain Delice de Sureau was made from elderflower blossoms handpicked at the foot of the Alps. With smooth hints of honeyed pear and lush notes of grapefruit it's a delicious and potent treat.

Released in 2007, it's on the shelves of a few of my favorite bars: Milk and Honey and the new fav, Absinthe Bar in NYC, and Bourbon & Branch in SF.
The Signature Cocktail...
2 Shots Champagne or Dry White Wine
1 ½ Shots St-Germain
2 Shots Sparkling Water or Club Soda
Stir ingredients in a tall ice-filled Collins glass, mixing completely. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Hunted...

Jayson Home & Garden shop online has great accessories for a cozy wild animal themed room at home.

New York Sample Sales...

Coveting a Dolce leather handbag or colorful Tibi frock? In case you missed the Daily Candy update, here are you're favorite designers offering sample items at wholesale prices over the next 2 weeks in NYC.

Salt...

Blogger Neuf Francs posts about Mark Kurlansky's, Salt: A World History - which made the NY Times bestseller list. Kurlansky writes an interesting biography of the mineral and it's impact on our civilization. Who knew it was such a commodity and at times currency, as Roman soldiers were once paid in salt? It sounds like an intriguing story.

Electric Mini Coop...

I want this car! I have always loved Mini's. Singer James Blunt was one of the first to receive the new electric Mini Cooper. The EV was created under a partnership with Hybrid Technologies and NASA. Now, it’s been announced that HT is ready to put the conversion process into commercial production — allowing us to drive some of the first all-electric lithium powered cars early next year. Yay!

Urban Curators...

Just steps from where I grew up, the Urban Curators project is framing high-art. In an attempt to engage the public in the celebration of the decaying urban environment and recognize its inherent aesthetic qualities -the Urban Curator project frames overlooked objects and spaces within the city of Providence, RI, by literally hanging gold, gallery-style frames.
