More Winter Reading...

I stumbled upon a short reading list that called to me, on Daily Candy. I'm ready to banish the winter blahs and pick up one of these reads:

Sci-Finds
The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep and Never Had To by DC Pierson is about an 'evil force that chases two teenage friends after one reveals he never sleeps. It’s funny, thrilling, and awkward in the best way.'

Darrin Doyle’s The Girl Who Ate Kalamazoo is 'wildly out there, but its message about family dysfunction is achingly real.'

Dark Side
Randy Susan Meyers’s The Murderer’s Daughters. 'Beautiful language balms the dark plot of two orhpaned sisters.'

Where the God of Love Hangs Out by Amy Bloom. 'Secrets and confessions of friends and lovers who dip in and out of each other’s lives.'

History
Bloodroot by Amy Greene, who grew up in the Appalachian foothills and 'recreates the colorful and eerie landscape' including tales of witchcraft.

The Secret Life of Emily Dickinson, by Jerome Charyn, 'blurs fact and fiction as he cracks open the exploits of the American poet.'

Colorful Bedrooms...

There is a richness in the use of colors and patterns in these bedrooms that I love. {images via House Beautiful, Apartment Therapy}

Natural Light...

I love when natural sunlight is pouring in from large windows. Especially with these gorgeous oak floors reflecting off of the white walls. {image via plush palate}

What's Cooking...

This modern white kitchen space is decorated with a few vintage pieces and hints of black and red. I'd like to cook something up in here;) {image via dress design decor}

Happy Friday...

Put on a dress, hang a piñata and have a great weekend! {image via Everything Fabulous}

Closet Crush...

This is the antithesis of what my closet looks like;) I would love to walk into this beautifully organized space, complete with stripey ottoman, crystal chandelier and new wardrobe! {image via delightfully random}

Silke Schöner...

I love Schöner's artwork, it has such a surreal and dreamlike quality.
"It is my interest to use a fiction of the real to make the unreal, the unnamed perceivable in the picture's white areas.

The presence of the realistically painted motives, snap-shots of public places, stands in direct interaction with the empty area. By means of this unfashioned space, movement is concentrated towards the motive or withdraws from the unbounded image space."

Harvey Faircloth...

Three former fashion mavens and close friends launched vintage-inspired clothing line Harvey Faircloth last year and the collections are a perfect mix of feminine casual-glam wear. Their site should be the template for creative branding and style with a mix of playful lookbook scenes and inspiration collages.

Tortellini Parmesan Soup...

When it comes to deciding what to cook for the eve, I often want soup! It warms me up while it's freezing cold outside. Rhonda at All the Best always has Sunday Soup recipes that look simple and tasty. I want to try this tortellini parmesan soup.

A Little Lonny...

I love these tables styled in Lonny Magazine. Flowers, turquoise flair and fabulous trays makes me want to reearange my tablescapes at home.

Montmartre...

I love this photo of Montmartre in Paris. I have such great memories of spending time there years ago. You can buy on Etsy at Little Brown Pen.

Cozy Rustic Kitchen...

Any room with a fireplace is heaven to me. I think it's especially a nice feature in the kitchen area. My brother's old house had a large farm style dining table and fireplace where we would sit for hours during cold wintery days. {image via a life's design}

White Truffle Mac & Cheese...

I feel like cooking this week! This Truffle Mac & Cheese recipe I found looks delicious. Perfect comfort food!

I wish I was gazing out my window at the Eiffel Tower, that would make for a much more interesting view than the blue wall I stare at all day;) {image via pretty lovely}

Vanessa Jackman Street Style...

I stumbled upon a new blog, Vanessa Jackman's Street Style, that ranks up there with my obsession of Sartorialist and Garance Dore.

Mrs. Lilien's Style House...

My favorite new blog is Mrs. Lilien's Style House. She puts things together visually in themes that amaze me! She is a designer/stylist who arranges eye candy for all!
