Elson & Co...

Diane Elson Bankoff started Elson & Company over 10 years ago in San Francisco. She was a close friend to one of mine, so I've been following her new lines for years. The company was founded with the vision of fusing custom-designed, hand-knotted Tibetan rugs with the 'endless possibilities of sophisticated modern design'. Narciso Rodriguez, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta and other high- profile fashionistas helped devise the company's "Fashion Underfoot" line, which gives 10 percent of the profits from each piece sold to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Prices range from $30 per square foot to $100 per square foot depending on knot count and the type of rug and are available at retail locations through the US or directly from Elson.
