The Amphicar was built between 1961 and 1968, reaching maximum speed on land at 70mph and on water at 7mph. It had a special two-part land-and-water transmission built by makers of Porsche and were sold back then at about $2,800. It was the only civilian amphibious passenger automobile ever to be produced and are hard to find these days, one recently sold for $100,000. Can you imagine Gumball Rally amphicar style?
