The capital of my home state and where I went to college is a beautiful city! Some of my favorite architecture lies downtown and in the heart of Brown Universities' campus. In the late 90s the project to enhance the arts and culture in Providence made it a renaissance destination year round. But my favorite are the Waterfires beginning in June. A sculpture along the river by Barnaby Evans is torch lit and accompanied by music and hundreds of people walking to enjoy the spectacle. Stroll Federal Hill, Thayer Street shops, take a Gondola ride down the three city rivers and escape to one of the many art galleries and famed restaurants. My fave - Alforno. But the list is look.
