Al Fresco in NYC...
There are so many lovely restaurants to visit in NYC, and in summer months an outdoor spot in the back garden or on the curb is covetable. DailyCandy just posted their list of favorite places to dine Al Fresco this season! And you can revisit my list too;)
Summer Menu Friday {Grilled Steak, Veggies, Apple Crisp + Pomegranate Orange Coolers}
Time to hit the grill and cook up some delicious veggies, flank steak and cool off with a refreshing drink;) These recipes are mouth watering!
NYC: Laundry Stork...
Are you scheduling 'laundry night' and dreading it all week long? It is top 5 on my list of least favorite things to do. So, that's why I'm sold on this idea...wash, dry, fold, delivered!
The Laundry Stork offers a way to pick up, clean and deliver laundry and dry cleaning. They are the only service in Manhattan that offers 24-hour turnaround eco-friendly laundry service and 48-hour turnaround GreenEarth dry cleaning service.
Why else you should love this, they are truly environmental friendly:
Detergents: Offer multiple detergent choices, including non-toxic, biodegradable and fragrance-free.
Hangers: They encourage you to include your hangers in your bag for pick-up so we can return your clothes on recyclable hangers, thereby reducing the 3.5 billion hangers that fill our landfills every year.
Packaging: Using dual-use bags, which serves as your dry cleaning bag and garment sleeve, drastically cutting down on the estimated 300 million pounds of single-use plastic bags from dry cleaners that go to our landfills every year.
Washing/Drying: High efficiency washer / extractor machines are designed to minimize water usage while our oversized dryers allow for maximum air flow.
Dry Cleaning: They use green earth dry cleaning, the leading alternative among environmentally-safe dry cleaning methods.
Location: The cleaning facilities are located nearby to minimize our carbon footprint and we try to serve customers that are already located within our pick up and delivery areas.
Transportation: Prius hybrids and the new Ford Transit Connect are used for transportation to and from our dry cleaning facilities.
Donation: They donate at least 1% of our sales to "1% for the Planet" -- a network of over 2,000 environmental organizations worldwide. We are also in the process of initiating a clothing donation program for customers that wish to give used clothes to those in need in the area.

Hamptons Getaway...
Just a few snapshot of my weekend, via iPhone so bare with the grainy quality;)
What better way to spend a sunny weekend on the east coast, than jetting off to a beachside getaway in Amagansett with 10 friends? I may have gotten a little too much sun, but between, cooking up a storm - French Toast with fresh berries in the morning, Pulled Pork and homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches for dinner, playing tennis, lazing by the pool, taking a long walk on the beach and stopping into the best seafood lunch spot - it couldn't have been better;) Thanks to all the chefs and hosts.

Jetlag + Good Friends + SF Highlights...
I am tuckered out, but loving my time in SF. I can't decide which way it is harder to travel and catch up with sleep - but my experience says East to West. I'd like to lay in this cozy bed!
It has been just amazing weather, pinch me for how lucky I get everytime I visit. Sunny and 70s. I am shacking up with one of my best friends' in the world and her hubby and black lab. You know the kind of friends that think of everything...I had flowers next to my bed this morning and a pack of travel tissues because my allergies have kicked in this past week. Their guest room bed is even more comfy than mine at home and I have taken great walks with the pup in the Presidio and on the beach. Not to mention our offices here are in the best location and the crew is so nice!
Heading to the East Bay on Sunday was such a treat, I felt spoiled hopping from Piedmont to Orinda hanging with friends and their little babes, two more days to go and I'm already homesick for CA and missing everyone.
I don't have many pics to share, but I snapped a photo of Saturday's visit to Hog Island Oyster Depot, oysters and wine was enjoyed by all!
Tonight - I get to meet up with fellow blogger and favorite, Caitlin from Sacramento Street. Can't wait to exchange ideas over vino at a new spot in Pac Heights.
PS. Since I'm traveling the TUESDAY GIVEAWAY resumes next week and you will want to stay tuned, because it's a great one from Tucker Blair;) Cheers + Have a lovely day. {image via design sponge, sacramento st}

Boyfriend/Girlfriend Collection...
LA Designer Rachel Pally teamed up with boyfriend Kevin Circota to create a menswear-inspired-womenswear line that "defines the new urban hippie, where the city meets the beach." The Boyfriend/Girlfriend line launching this fall 2010, was inspired by "Love, fun and the pursuit of the perfect shirt," which comes across in their casual lookbook and the Sunny Sundays video of the couple cruising on bikes in Venice Beach. The collection will be available on Shopbop and Singer22 in coming months and I can't wait to channel my inner hippie when it does. Check out their interview on d~luxelist.

At the last Sunday Suppers gathering a la Rustic Italian theme; they created a make your own Martini Bar with Vodka, Vermouth, soda water, dirty water, and various favorite garnishes (olives and twists of course)!
