Erin Go Bragh...

Ireland the Beautiful!

There are a million reasons why I'd like to go and I just found one more...The Bellinter House. Set in Navan, lush County Meath, about 30 miles north of Dublin (within striking distance of the airport, if you're over for the weekend). This 250 year-old Georgian mansion has a mix of antique and midcentury-modern furniture, art installations, a couple of pools and a bath house. Known for their laid-back staff and unstuffy atmosphere, how you could you go wrong?

Fancy an afternoon tea in the drawing room? Why not, or you can take lunch in the vaulted cellar, play billiards in the games room, enjoy the in-house cinema, and unwind at the spa. And, if you'd like to be outdoors, they'll arrange hot air ballooning, golf, horse riding, fishing in the river Boyne, bicycling or clay pigeon shooting. All of the above sound ideal to me...

Especially when followed by dinner at Eden, their famous restaurant and possibly a pint at the local pub Mrs O's. Rooms from around £180 per night.
