The World Bicycle Relief organization founded in 2005 is a pulbic charity whose mission is to empower people through sustainable transportation, the bicycle. Which they believe to be an essential element in disaster assistance and poverty relief by allowing people to be mobile, having access to healthcare, education and economic development. They have partnered with USAID-funded, World Vision-led coalition of relief organizations to address the HIV/AIDS crisis in Zambia as well as the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative. In addition to providing new bicycles to improve the quality of life, they include comprehensive training on bicycle maintenance, as well as teaching important life skills and disease prevention education to entire communities.
