Since the lovely Sarah is currently moving (hoping it is going well girlie!) I thought it would be fitting to post simple steps you can take towards giving your bedroom a complete makeover on a budget! While revamping your bedroom may seem like a daunting and expensive task, there really are some great ways to get a whole new look without breaking the bank! 1. Paint- A fresh coat of paint in any color will automatically give your entire room a facelift and leave you feeling excited and motivated to do more! Want a more tranquil feel? Go for colors in the realm of egg shell, beige, or taupe. Feel risky? Try vibrant colors in the blue and purple families. If you are really hesitant, just try one wall and make that your focal point in the room.
2. Bedding- Let's be honest here, nothing beats coming home after a long day at work or school and snuggling into your comfy bed! Changing up your bedding can alter the entire look of your room instantly. For a budget friendly choice, check out stores that carry beds-in-a-bag. For around $100 you will get everything you need without the hassle of having to match separates. Tip: For a really quick change, set out to buy a duvet cover that you can insert your old comforter into. No need to buy an expensive down comforter; you will not be able to see your old one once inside the duvet anyway!
3. Lighting- Whether you like to read in bed at night or not, a great bedside or corner lamp can add some much needed pizazz to your new room! Look for fun lamps with funky bases for some extra quirkiness!
4. Accessories- Pillows, blankets, mirrors, and pictures are all fabulous ideas to add to your newly revamped bedroom! Shop at places like Home Goods or your local flea market for these pieces, as some department stores charge big bucks for these items. Tip: If space is an issue in your room, look into buying furniture pieces that will store your items and can double as your vanity!
And there you have it! A completely new room with out having to eat top ramon for the next 6 months!
