Winter Solstice...

The term solstice means “sun stands still” and a few years ago on this cold December night in Providence RI, my sister, mother, niece and father celebrated the winter solstice. It was in gratitude for the returning of the sun and to wish for my father's health. My niece drew a Sun, and we each lit a candle for that wish. I found this verse that reminded me of that wonderful day and how special it is to celebrate and be grateful together.

But nothing may be
Just alone for our sake.
The more we give light

Blizzard Update...

I'm not sure why they called it a blizzard, but we got about 8 inches of snow this weekend! I was so excited to run around and play Saturday night, sliding, snowball fights and catching snowflakes. It's when the city is at it's quiet most beautiful state. Cheers to a white Christmas!

Who says you have to go out to deck the halls? I love staying in too, a little champs, cozy fire, cooking and playing guitar are my fave.

Destination: Park City...

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of revisiting the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, UT. It's one of my favorite spots on the map. Besides the 5-star quality resort, prime Deer Valley Ski mountain ski-in/ski-out accessibility, we arrived on the very first day the new Spa opened it's doors. Hooray! Since there is so much to entertain year-round, you can head to the lodge anytime. It's worth the trip just to spoil yourself with a heavenly Aspen Oasis body wrap and message, fondue by the fire and shopping on Main Street. I loved going when all the Christmas lights were twinkling through the hills. You can't get away without a few star sightings too;)

Positive Thoughts...

I came across this inspiring 'Reversal of Fortune' story recently in Marie Claire about a woman who was diagnosed with MS, and had to share. While it can be somewhat controversial to side step medical conclusions and attempt to forge your own destiny/recovery, I have heard amazing stories where it has proven to be true. And I am a believer that our positive or negative thoughts can manifest themselves. So I am wishing for health, wellness and prosperity for all of you in 2010!
