More Winter Reading...

I stumbled upon a short reading list that called to me, on Daily Candy. I'm ready to banish the winter blahs and pick up one of these reads:

Sci-Finds
The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep and Never Had To by DC Pierson is about an 'evil force that chases two teenage friends after one reveals he never sleeps. It’s funny, thrilling, and awkward in the best way.'

Darrin Doyle’s The Girl Who Ate Kalamazoo is 'wildly out there, but its message about family dysfunction is achingly real.'

Dark Side
Randy Susan Meyers’s The Murderer’s Daughters. 'Beautiful language balms the dark plot of two orhpaned sisters.'

Where the God of Love Hangs Out by Amy Bloom. 'Secrets and confessions of friends and lovers who dip in and out of each other’s lives.'

History
Bloodroot by Amy Greene, who grew up in the Appalachian foothills and 'recreates the colorful and eerie landscape' including tales of witchcraft.

The Secret Life of Emily Dickinson, by Jerome Charyn, 'blurs fact and fiction as he cracks open the exploits of the American poet.'
