Crosby Street Hotel Sunday Movies...

The Crosby Street Hotel in Soho launched Sunday Night Film Club! It’s open to guests and public – dinner and a movie for $50 per person or cocktail, bar plate and movie for $25 per person. Dinner & cocktails are served in the Crosby bar and the movie is viewed in their 100 seat cinema at 8pm. I can't wait;)

Cut, Scene, Print...

I've picked up my screenplay again, Second Sunday, a disaster romantic comedy that we could all relate to and find humor in - yet, it's one of those ongoing projects I wonder if I'll ever complete! The missing piece that I thought readers of the blog might be able to assist with/share inspiration is wrapped up in the plot of how two people meet and fall in love. Where the Wild Things Are...

An adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, 'Where the Wild Things Are' comes to life on screen to tell the tale of Max, a little boy who creates his own world in a forest inhabited by wild creatures that him as their ruler. I'm dying to see it, with Spike Jonze directing it's bound to be magical and sharp. It's inspired fashion lookbooks to get daringly wild. Let the wild rumpus begin!

Ok, don't worry, this isn't one of those things that you post because it is paralleling your life. I haven't been dumped;) But I just laugh out loud when I watch this clip from He's Just Not That Into You, it's incredibly true and hilarious and my friend and I were just quoting it verbatim.

Summer...

I finally saw 500 Days of Summer last night. I thought it was a refreshingly realistic romantic comedy that depicted the joy and sadness of love while keeping it light and hopeful. The expectations vs. reality scenario was hilariously true to life. I recommend seeing, it lives up to the hype.

Faux Film Fest...

The inspiration for dreamers lies at the surface of this movie about the early years of Julia Child's career and blogger Julie Powell's attempt -- more than 4 decades later -- to reproduce every recipe in "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" in a year's time, and blog about it. Julie & Julia is released in theaters Aug 7.

Once...

See Once, A modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week in Dublin, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story. Amazing and beautiful. This passed weekend, Josh Ritter played in Central Park and the artists in the film, Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová joined him on stage with the NY Pops for an amazing performance.

The Hangover...

The Hangover follows four men to Vegas for a bachelor party, and the story takes many twists as they wake up not recalling the events of the night. My cheeks still hurt from laughing so hard. The whole cast had amazing chemistry and dialogue. You can actually begin to appreciate the ritual and accept it's ridiculousness!
