Pink in the Haus...

These rooms pop with pink. The first living space is so delicious it looks like a pack of fruit stripe gum! I love shades of pale pink on the wall and bold accents elsewhere. Makes me wish for a spring day. {image via bijou + boheme, luxe + lillies}

Love these street looks, mini-skirts or shorts paired with low boots are perfect for long legged ladies in spring (which couldn't come soon enough;). {image via bazaar}

NYC Photos...

Go check out High Gloss Blue today, she posted some lovely pics of NYC. I just love this one overlooking the harbor, a few inches of snow, a glow in the sky and hanging lanterns. Meanwhile, have a I told you I am hopping on a flight tomorrow morning to Park City? Straight to the mountain to ski! Hooray. I am sharing a house with 10 friends from NYC and there 5 other houses of people from Chicago and California, all friends of friends. We are going to take in some films, ski, cook and laze.

The Unexpected...

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was very low-key, I've taken up working out like it's a new job. Fortunately through the cold mid-west winters all I have to do is trek up to the 44th floor of my building and hop on the treadmill. I've also been attempting some of Tracy Anderson's moves, good thing there are no hidden cameras, my dance moves are not quite as sassy as hers'. But I'm working on it. This weekend I was thinking about 'doing the unexpected', and am in the throws of change, transition, and everything new. Luckily, I sort of new what I was getting into with a big move to a new city, where I knew few people. Still, it takes effort creating this whole new life, what I know is this...I love adventures and misadventures, and doing the unexpected, it's like this picture...A cold cloudy day (instead of warm sunny one), a rocky place (instead of a pristine soft sand beach), and a picnic. There really isn't anything practical about it, it's just fun, and making the most of every setting and every day. {image via looking for source}

Look of the Day...

Simple neutral palette with cute flowing skirt, adorable leather platform sandals and colorful bag. Kind of makes my toes cold, but I'm flying south soon, so this is going in my inspiration style files.

Brilliant Light...

This wall of windows that opens up to the garden and extends to let the sunlight in on the roof is amazing! I could sit at the desk daydreaming or pick up a book in the stacks to read and admire all of the old photography for hours. {image via Greige}

Blogger Award...

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I want to kick off this week by thanking Sarah, from Quotient for the 'Stylish Blogger Award'. So sweet of you to pick me as one of your favorite blogs, I'm honored! The rules of the selection are, pick 7 blogs to bestow the award in return, and tell 7 things about yourself. Go check out Sarah's lovely design blog!

Blogs I've discovered recently that I adore:
I decided to go to the route of 7 random things I am loving at the moment...here goes:
1. Watching Glee re-runs on hulu.
2. Zipcar, thank God we have a few in my building! It would be a bummer to wait for a cab with 10 bags of groceries at Whole Foods on a snowy day. Not to mention, it's a great way to learn a new city.
3. Long brunches that run into the night.
4. Plaid, it's a fad and I'm into it.
5. Trying new recipes, and barely sticking to them. Next attempt - crab cakes. (I have to get my cousins famous recipe and will share!)
6. Making the perfect playlist for a friend.
7. Planning winter getaways, first stop - Park City in 10 days + counting with a house full of my NYC friends, hooray;)

Bright + Cozy...

This bedroom looks so cozy! I love the white indian patterned pillow covers, striped rug, hints of goldy yellow and pendant lamp. The sun shines in to make this a perfectly cheery spot to rest and wake.

Sounds of the Day...

I just got the Generationals Con Law Album on itunes, saw them play last night in a small Chicago venue. Love!

Bench...

This looks like the perfect spot to sit and reflect. Doesn't that always happen in the new year? You pause to take in where you are in the moment and think about where you were at this very time the year before. I couldn't be happier where I landed, and everything that I experienced in 2010 feels like a fun little whirlwind. Lots more to do in 2011, can't imagine what it will bring, and I love that... {image via Gingerella}

Cowhide, Yes Please...

Looking to spice up my apartment with a little cowhide. I adore each of these interiors. {images via lonny, domino, elle}

Happy first Friday in the New Year! Did you all have a nice week? I am ready to cozy up to a fire and relax. It's almost too cold here to snow! Have a lovely weekend. xo {image via habitually chic}

Musings in Black and White....

I'm completely smitten with black and white photos, I'm trying to collect a few for my apartment. These have been piling up on my desktop waiting to be shared. Each one has a personality and expression all their own. {images via tumblr, patterson maker, musings in femininity, harper and harley, trishy rose,}

50 States...

How many states have you visited? I have a few on my list that I'd love to discover this year or next. Alaska, Hawaii, Wyoming, Louisiana and Montana. I counted the other day while talking to my nephew...and I'm at 29. {images via Someday Hopes}

Perfect Picture Walls...

I'm trying to achieve the ideal picture wall. Minus a few frames and pictures, I'm almost there...ok, admittedly, I'm not, but I can dream;) Any suggestions of great prints and photography? {image Lonny, Roseland Greene}
